My overall take out of these three days are definitely the medicines. I really found interest in the medicines because we could make so much use and healing. From lemon grass to none trees to even dirt. My favorite medicine is Alai. I had so many questions to ask aunty kii. Alai is basically red dirt clay we could use it for blood pressure to stopping very bad wounds to stop bleeding. Aunty kid said a whole process on how to prepare it to very fine paste to pack wounds also to put in gel caps to consume. Overall I had really fun this past three days with aunty kid and I would love to learn a lot more.
My overall thoughts on the class I took away is to establish connection to where you are. To be present in the now. I also learned more about the medicinal uses of native plants and how beneficial they are. And also just to pule, to have a sense of pule in all aspects of your life.
My take away from the past three days is nothing but much admiration, respect, love, and feeling the sense of humility to be in the presence of kumu Ki'i. Just cause she has so much knowledge, understanding, stories and so much she can offer to not just us here at Ka'ehu. But, for the entire island let alone state of Hawai'i nei and I'm so happy and grateful to know her on a different level. Cause when I first started here at Ka'ehu I just knew her as Ki'i this is who she is and what she does. But, as I've gotten to know her from last November till now. I can say with a full heart I'm happy, blesssed,…
Like in the beginning it was said we needed to make connections and have relationships not only with the people around us but also with our Aina. There are so many variations and so much more that goes into every plant that you would use to heal any type of sickness or cuts, broken bones, bruises. You always have to have good intensions, clean and positive state of mind. This type of work is definitely something not everyone can do, due to having be consistent and diligent. I definitely am very interested in learning just more about the uses of the different plants, I am very aware that we need to take very good care of our bodies and…
